Personal Injuries Assessment Board*

The insurance companies lobbied the government to set up the Personal Injuries Assessment Board*, for what we would argue, was their personal gain to the detriment of personal injury* victims. Contact us for a no obligation communication. All personal injury claims*, with some exceptions, must first go to the Personal Injuries Assessment Board*, a government body.  Over 90% of applicants engage solicitor and lawyer representation.  Why?  A solicitor / lawyer is qualified to tell you what your claim for compensation is worth.  A solicitor / lawyer is qualified to tell you who the correct person is to sue. A solicitor / lawyer cuts through the bureaucracy of the Personal Injuries Assessment Board*.

If the person responsible for your injury* is not disputing liability and gives their consent, your claim for damages can be assessed by the Personal Injuries Assessment Board*.  However such consent can be refused, usually by the Insurance Company, if the person responsible for the claim does not wish to pay the assessment. Where the person responsible for your injury* does not give consent to Personal Injuries Assessment Board* for assessment, the Personal Injuries Assessment Board* may issue an authorisation to allow you to pursue your claim through the courts.  It always best to employ a Solicitor. There is a limited period within which you can bring a claim so you should apply as soon as possible after the injury* occurs. Once consent is received from the person against whom the claim* is made, the Personal Injuries Assessment Board* has nine months to make an award. This period may be extended by a further six months, but cannot go beyond fifteen months.  For this reason it’s always best to employ a Solicitor. Contact us for a no obligation communication
